Strong Roots and a Stormy Day

ARE YOU STRONG ENOUGH TO SURVIVE A STORM?

Matthew 7:24-27 English Standard Version  (ESV)

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on THE ROCK. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

  • Are you like the wise man?
  • Will you withstand the storm?
  • Are you rooted in the ROCK OF JESUS?
  • Is your family's house built on the ROCK?

This tree stayed rooted, but the storm twisted the trunk and it broke.  Is this what you feel like sometimes? Your faith is strong, but when a life event happens, you are shaken and bent over in pain or fear, and you may break, but if your roots are still alive, new life can begin again.  New fruit can begin to grow. A strong tree grows with a hope that nothing can uproot it. Reaching to the sky, open, and hopeful.

Hope grows stronger every day and a strong faith GROWS strong roots that will withstand storms.

A tree that is weak will not withstand the storm. Hiding inside this tree was a weak and rotting spot that weakened it.  One windstorm revealed the truth. This tree was on "sandy soil." It was hiding the truth inside. Weak and unrooted is not a healthy way to live.  Storms will come into your life, and they will reveal the "foolish man."

Start living today like a tree with deep, strong roots that will survive the stormy days that will come.
